Snom technology, announced that the snom 821 is the first qualified device on Microsoft®’s UC platform with extended feature support for even greater performance. And also the Snom 821 IP Phone is compatible for Microsoft Lync. This is the Second Snom IP Phone is tested to provide the highest level of interoperability and reliability with Microsoft® Office Communications Server 2007 R2. Snom 300 is previously qualified by Microsoft.

The snom OCS Edition firmware (snom Open Communication Solution Edition) is an optional software module for snom 821. It combines the advantages of open standards-based IP telephony by using the SIP protocol to seamlessly integrate with Microsoft ® Office Communications Server 2007 R2, Lync and any other SIP based IP PBX in parallel.

The snom 821 comes with an integrated 1 Gigabit switch on board which enables connected devices to benefit from all modern network installations. With its high-resolution TFT color display the snom 821 offers a brilliant depiction of call lists, phone directories, and caller information via the integrated XML browser. The snom 821 support all features already supported by the snom 300 (native Microsoft® UC integration, dual SIP stack) in addition to the following extended scenarios:

     

  • Server side address book search with integrated presence
  • Presence integrated in call history, contact list and search results
  • Advanced security on server side, controlled keyboard lock
  • Mapping of your favourite contacts on 3 colour buttons (with instant presence view)
  • WLAN support
  • G722 wideband support
  •
